CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

A lot of activity went down over the weekend - festivities, clubbing and various events took place and many of our favourite (and not so favourite) R&B stars were out in full participation. Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger was spotted arriving at Villa in Hollywood last night, and decided to give the paps an eyeful of her undergarments:

Fortunately, she didn't do a Britney. She happily flaunted her pink panties to match her dress. Surely, she could have come out of the car much better than that. She must have known the paps would have been up there like flies on shit. Well, at least she shaves. That counts for something I guess.

Raven Symone was spotted segwegging in LA yesterday:

Can someone explain to me why this chick is segwegging? I mean, she might be overweight but she's not obese. I'm sure if she spent most of her time walking, some of the weight would actually drop off. Her lack of self-discipline is really disappointing.

Mel B showed lots and lots of front when she and hubby Stephen Belafonte attended P. Diddy's Harlem 2 Hollywood party over the weekend:

She looked good, save for the breast implants which looked horrible. Well, she would have looked good if she didn't bring that weird grubby looking hubby of hers. I'm sorry but he's just. not. cute.

Here's a couple of pics of Kelly Rowland performing 'Daylight' at the BBC's Sound over the weekend:

Kelly did the Robot by the looks of things. Cute. Considering that Kelly has somewhat been programmed to constantly sing praises on Queen B and the Knowles clan. Hate what she's wearing though.

Kelly also hosted a party which went down at Amika nightclub in London, and her pals Usher and Nelly were in attendance:

London was where it was poppin'. Usher will also perform his latest smash Love In This Club on The Hills later today.

Usher was also spotted in central London, signing autographs outside of Selfridges. His deeply insecure wife Tameka was not too far away:

Wow. I just can't get over that jaw. It's a strong one. I try hard not to focus on it but when you look at her face that's all you see. Still, neither one of us know her really. Underneath all the insecurity, she could be a good person in spite of her "issues" and criminal past (She was arrested in 2005 for stealing clothes from Phipps plaza in Atlanta). I'm sure snagging Usher from Chilli and marrying the multi-millionaire served its purpose. No wonder she's left the kids and the couple's new-born son behind. She'd rather trail after her cash-cow hubby all over the world to ensure he doesn't get up to any tricks with girl fans, particularly ones that look like Keri Hilson. Anyway, footballer Rio Ferdinand is a huuuge fan of Usher, so they chilled, whilst Usher sat down with global social media network Bebo for his first ever live, streamed, interactive interview where he spoke directly to the fans. The interview featured tracks from his forthcoming album Here I Stand, and folks were invited to ask him questions by becoming a fan of his Bebo profile at www.bebo.com/usher.
The singer also performed at a private party for which he was paid a whopping £500,000 for two hours. Usher was hired by a wealthy young businessman as a surprise for his girlfriend's 26th birthday. Usher, who was later joined by his wife Tameka, stayed until 2am. Paying large bucks was small change for the the young businessman as he is No 10 on The Times' under-30 rich list after earning £60million from the sale of an internet design company. Must be nice indeed.

On May 11th, Rihanna performed live at the 'Glow In The Dark' Tour in Bristow:

Her outfits are hot! Also, don't forget to look out for the premiere of her video with Maroon 5. If I Never See Your Face Again is set to premiere tomorrow.

Tatyana Ali attended the Step Up Women's Network 2008 Inspiration Awards on May 9th 2008, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, in Los Angeles:

Little Miss Ashley Banks was looking cute as she paid homage to the special cause. Each year, Step Up's star-studded Inspiration Awards fundraising events celebrate the year's most inspiring women, recognizing celebrities, VIPs and members of the organization. This year's recipients were chosen for their ongoing support of Step Up Women's Network and for being outstanding role models for women and young girls. Step Up has grown to include 50,000 supporters who have raised millions of dollars and donated more than 100,000 volunteer hours to the organization's programs. The group is a national nonprofit membership organization with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Mary J. Blige spoke at the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. (FFAWN) Launch this past Friday:

Mary has set up the foundation to help women develop careers and gain self-confidence. The charity will fund scholarships, grants and programs that help women gain confidence and skills to succeed in their careers.

Here are a couple of pictures of legendary diva Whitney Houston when she performed in London at last Thursday's Caudwwell's Children Charity:

Whitney received raving reviews for her performance at the event. The 44-year-old was paid £100,000 for the gig. Her 15-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina also put in an appearance when she started to sing her previous smash hit My Love is Your Love. Whitney wore a tight dress by British designers Bodyamr and looked amazing. She also belted out other previous classics of hers such as I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Saving All My Love and the biggest one to date - I Will Always Love You. Altogether, the event raised an impressive £1.5m.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

On Monday night, Keyshia Cole (and Tocarra) were spotted partying it up at club Belvedere in Houston:

Alltheparties.

Keyshia looks better and better each time. In the first week of July, the 2008 Essence Music Festival will take place and Keyshia has just been added to their list of performers. Others on the bill include Rihanna, Chris Brown, Mary J Blige, Musiq Soulchild and many others. For more info on tickets and dates, click here.

Alicia Keys visited David Letterman yesterday:

Wireimages.

Alicia is one hot mami. The singer was on the show to perform her latest new single Teenage Love Affair.

Leona Lewis has been really busy promoting latest album Spirit down under. She attended a press conference at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Australia yesterday:

Wireimages.

Where's your shoes, chick? Her other British counterpart Joss Stone has started a very interesting trend it seems.

Whitney Houston didn't want her pictures taken when she performed at the 4th Annual Plymouth Jazz Festival Tobago this weekend, but here's a couple anyway:

Wireimages.

And the performance to go with it. Just horrible. It didn't sound like Whitney Houston, the powerhouse singer who use to send chills down your spine but more like a karaoke singer trying to sound like hey-day Whitney. She was out of tune for the most part and sounded hideous. The voice just isn't there anymore. I'm seriously beginning to have major doubts on a successful comeback. I hope she can get it together, seriously, because this just isn't cutting it.

Estelle had an NY album release party for album 'Shine', this week as well as appeared on MTV's Total Request Live yesterday to promote it:

The album was released yesterday. I liked it but not enough to buy it. Still, I hope she gets decent first week sales.

Bad Boy artist Cherri Dennis attended the Hip-Hop Summit: Get Your Money Right! at Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina this past weekend:

Wireimages.

For once in her life, she looked decent but I'll always hate the numerous tats all over her body.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony attended New York Mets' Carlos Beltran's birthday party at Sofrito in New York City on April 27:

She looks good but her pregnancy nose refuses to go away.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

Last night, oddball couple Ray-J and Whitney Houston attended the Hopkins vs. Calzaghe "Battle of The Planet" in The PH Ring. The event took place at The Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada:

Whitney looks like she's still on that smack again, looking real high and smoked out. Well, she must be, now that she's reconciled her relationship with Ray-J all of a sudden. Her nasty looking bedraggled wig looked like it was plonked on top of her head without careful positioning. She probably didn't take the Clive Davis news all that well, and said fuck it.

The singer was also spotted at LAX airport this weekend with daughter Bobbi Christina:

Bobbi is growing up nicely.

Last night, Rihanna performed at the Glow In The Dark tour which went down at the HP Pavilion on April 19, 2008 in San Jose, California:

The singer wore a leathery black and pink outfit with matching gloves and looked really hot during her crotchy moments. She was getting down with her male dancers. I wonder what boyfriend Chris Brown thought of the sexy routine?

Yesterday,
Christina Milian attended the Bacardi B-Live Concert at Bayfront Amphitheatre on April 19, 2008 in Miami, Florida:

She looked nice, but before she got dolled up, she was spotted out and about in Los Angeles.

Mary J. Blige and hubby Kendu attended her official after concert party at TAO Las Vegas in The Venetian Hotel on April 19, 2008 in Las Vegas,Nevada:

Mary was looking like .... Mary.

Mel B and her husband Stephen Belafonte were spotted departing Foxtail Restaurant in Los Angeles this week:

These two are always seen leaving restaurants. Don't they ever cook? And when was the last time this man had a job? He stays living off her expenses including the house that SHE paid for.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT [PART TWO]....

Last night, Keri Hilson hosted the 3rd Anniversary party for Rap Up Magazine at the NYC soho Adidas store. The event was attended by Tiffany Evans (not pictured), Teyana Taylor and Nina Sky:

Teyana performed an electric set but looked crazy as hell already. I think I'm liking this chick's wacky charisma.

WHITNEY HOUSTON & RAY-J attended Atlanta's HOT 107.9's Hip-Hop Fashion show last night - TOGETHER:

[SPOTTED @ SOHH VIA ATLPICS.NET]

I thought these two were well and truly over. Guess not. I'm really surprised that Whitney is back with Ray-J especially since he tried to put her business on front street regarding their sex life. That's the dog he truly is. His dick must be made out of a thousand voltages of dynamite.

Yesterday, Tatyana Ali attended the premiere of New Line Cinema's 'Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay':

She looks fantastic. This is the best she's looked in ages. She's 29 and still looks like lil Ashley from Fresh Prince. I just want her to come out with that new album she's currently working on.

Check out more pictures of Kat Deluna backstage at the 50th GRAMMY Celebration Concert Tour presented by T-Mobile:

Looks aside, you either love her or hate her. My side of the coin is pointing towards the latter.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

Last night, legendary diva Whitney Houston attended Muhammad Ali's Celebrity Fight Night XIV at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa on April 5, 2008 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Whitney was looking really well that night:

She even renewed her silicones for the special occasion, and to celebrate, she had them out on full display. They were trying to detach themselves from the dress. Whitney appeared completely not at all fazed by ex-husband Bobby Brown's claims that she was the reason he became a crackhead (eh? I always thought it was the other way round. Hmmmmm). Whitney's mentor Clive Davis wasn't too far behind. Backstage, she was seen chilling out with fellow legend Dionne Warwick and her 'Bodyguard' co-star Kevin Costner. Talk about CLASSIC! Anyway, I am definetely waiting on that new album of hers. Whitney may not have performed at the event, but check out which R&B songstresses took to the stage.

One of my favourite R&B singers Tamia performed at the event. If I can get a hold of this performance, I will post it:

I love me some Tamia. Her latest album Between Friends gets played RELIGIOUSLY around these parts. I'm sure she tore it up.

American Idol champ Jordin Sparks also performed at the event:

As always, looking more chirpier than ever. I love this girl's spirit. She'll be prepping to support Alicia Keys on her US As I Am tour later this month.

Mariah's promotional stint in the UK has finally come to an end. Yesterday, she appeared on the RTL TV show "Deutschland sucht den SuperStar" in Cologne, Germany on April 5th:

At the end of the show, Mariah sang Touch My Body in a short black dress. Afterwards, she was asked which of the contestants was her favorite, but she said she's too nice to pick among them and that they were all amazing. Um, yeah, watch them ask her the same mess when she appears on American Idol in 10 days time. Anyway, the show she appeared on is equivalent to American Idol and the UK's 'X-Factor'. The female contestants were singing Mariah tunes whilst the male contestants had to sing Take That tunes. So I guess Mariah was mentoring just like how she'll be mentoring on American Idol.

Mariah was spotted arriving at the German TV studio to which the show had taken place:

It's clear to see why Mariah has been obsessed with those same mini figure hugging black dresses....

This week in London, Mariah also celebrated her 18th #1 single at a party thrown for her at Cipriani Restaurant:

GO MIMI!

One of her last stops in London before she flew out to Germany was the BBC Radio One Studios:

She arrived at the studio to talk to radio personality Scott Mills on Thursday about the new album and single.

Leona Lewis was spotted out in New York on Friday and was seen signing away a copy of her album Spirit to waiting fans:

Her album Spirit gets released in 2 days across the Atlantic. I can't wait to see how she does in the sales department. Will you be supporting?

Being the brilliant songwriter that she is, Keri Hilson was spotted contributing towards the 'Art of Songwriting' panel at Emory University on Wednesday in Atlanta:

Even when she's dressed down and wearing little make-up, this girl is on fire. She really needs to hurry up with that single Return the Flavor or whatever it's called. I so anticipate her new album and hope she comes correct.

MORE NEWS ON THAT UPCOMING WHITNEY HOUSTON ALBUM....

Singing powerhouse Whitney Houston has so far completed four songs for her highly-anticipated, as-yet-untitled comeback album, and four more will be recorded later this month, according to her mentor, BMG Label Group chairman/CEO Clive Davis.

The album will see production from producers and songriters such as Will.i.am, Sean Garrett and Akon. Others include Johnta Austin, R. Kelly, Diane Warren and other big-name producers. Here's what Mr Davis had to say about the upcoming product:
"We're on track for a holiday release," he said during Billboard's Music & Money Symposium. "We're not going to compromise who she is to fit into today's hip-hop radio market. The public wants Whitney material."
I am glad Whitney is going back to the sound that made her one of the most adored powerhouse vocalists in music history. It's fantastic she's not compelled to use a sound that has become the trend amongst her younger peers. I want to hear classic Whitney again and I hope we get it. I am prepared to wait as long as it takes if it means getting a quality product from one of the world's biggest music diva's. It has already been announced that they're looking at a November/December release for the new project. To cement her comeback some more, Whitney will also do a comeback concert in London on May 8th. Organisers of the Caudwell Children's Legend Ball in Battersea have already announced they've booked the diva for the charity event.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT [PRE-GRAMMY ACTIVITIES PT3]....

You've seen the Arrivals post. Now this post will concentrate on the Clive Davis pre-Grammy Party dinner and reception as well as the performances that went down and other pre-Grammy events that took place. At the dinner party, Rihanna and her rumoured boyfriend Chris Brown were inseparable as they ate and sat together:

At the dinner party, Rihanna hung out with Janet Jackson, Lil Mama, Alicia Keys and Fergie. It seemed like a really cool party. It all went down in Los Angeles last night and it was the hottest party in town.

Ashanti attended the dinner party with her boyfriend rapper Nelly and her mama Tina:

They look cute together.

Alicia was also honoured when she got to hang out with her idol and label mate Whitney Houston as well as the legendary Quincy Jones and Janet Jackson. She also hung out with fella Kerry Brothers:

Good times.

Other folks who was there included Solange and father Matthew Knowles who posed it up with Natasha Bedingfield and J Records artist Mario:

Who is the cutie with Lil Mama? Don't tell me that's her fella.

As for the performances, three diva's from Clive's label performed: Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys and Fantasia Barrino. Leona performed a live rendition of 'Bleeding Love':

Her massively successful international debut, "Spirit," will hit US shores this spring on April 8th on J Records. It will be really interesting because she'll be releasing her CD a week after the very woman she channels her whole career after. That is, if Mariah Carey sticks to her album release date for 'That Chick'. The 'We Belong Together' singer is shooting the music video to "Touch My Body" over this weekend - February 9th and 10th in an undisclosed location in Los Angeles, California and the video will be directed by Brett Ratner who directed previous video's such as 'Heartbreaker', 'It's Like That' and 'We Belong Together'. According to the countdown clock, we have 2 days and 2 hours left until we finally hear the song. And the song won't impact radio until Feb 19th.

Alicia performed 'No One' and 'Like You'll Never See Me Again':

I'm sure she rocked those performances and she'll rock at the Grammys too.

Fantasia performed 'I'm Here' whilst Whitney got a new costume change and watched on:

Once these performances become available, they will be posted.

Last night, Nicole Scherzinger and Ne-yo attended Compound Entertainment pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles, February 9th:

Ne-yo should keep his hat on at ALL times. Other folks who attended include Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, Chrisette Michele, Danity Kane's D. Woods and Rihanna. Head on over to Wire Images for the full gallery.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT [PRE-GRAMMY ACTIVITIES PT2]....

The Queen has made her entrance! Whitney Houston attended the 2008 Clive Davis Pre-GRAMMY party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 9, 2008 in Los Angeles, California:

Whitney looked really really well. Her contemporaries had to take a backseat as the legendary diva graced the presence with such poise and elegance. Whitney turned up with
chairman and CEO BMG/J Records boss Clive Davis and was accompanied by Def Jam CEO LA Reid.

Janet Jackson and her beau Jermaine Dupri was there:

She looked pretty but wasn't feeling the outfit because it looked a little too gypsy-ish for my liking.

Rihanna hit up the scene as well:

I am still undecided about that dress but the natural make-up looks nice. I really hope she wins the 'Song of the year' gong for Umbrella but she faces stiff competition from Amy Winehouse.

Ashanti was there:

She was looking like the ultimate prom princess.

Alicia Keys looked stunning from head to toe as she posed it up with Whitney Houston and Clive Davis:

These two are Clive's favourite artists on his roster I believe and so is Monica or she would not have been given another album deal especially with the lukewarm response of the last CD. Clive was quick to drop Ruben Studdard, Tamyra Gray and Olivia when they didn't meet the right selling requirements.

Fantasia was there of course:

She's a bonafide hoodrat .... hood as hell. She needs to wind her ass back to the ghetto containment where she belongs.

Lil Mama graced the scene with her presence:

She tries.

Well, of course the event would be nothing without some eye candy and what person to provide it but Chris Brown?:

Mmmmm hmmmmm ....

Leona Lewis was there and also performed at the event. She was actually introduced as the new artist on the scene and sang a live rendition of 'Bleeding Love':

Bleeding Love is also starting to get major play on US radio. They are really pulling out the stops for this girl. Other performers at the event included Christina Aguilera and Fantasia amongst others. I wonder why Jennifer Hudson wasn't there. Performance pics and footage will be up later. I might add them to this post or start another one.

Jordin Sparks and Fergie hit up the scene:

More pics in HQ will be added to this post throughout the day so do keep checking back.

Solange Knowles was spotted leaving JD's pre-Grammy party:

What is she hiding?

Here are more pictures of Cassie making her arrival at the Sean John Fall 2008 during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2008 on February 8, 2008 in New York City:

She looks cute but I am kind of tired of seeing that dress.

Nicole Scherzinger and D. Woods attended the i.am booth during the 50th Annual Grammy Awards - Grammy Style Studio - Day 4 on February 9, 2008 in Los Angeles, California:

Her wig is hideous.

On Feb 8th, Rihanna was spotted out and about in New York:

She's been on a roll lately.

Yesterday, Christina Milian was also spotted shopping at Thesis in West Hollywood. She exited as she made her way towards her car:

Maybe she was buying a new outfit for the Grammys. She looked adorable all the same even when dressed down and no make-up she is killing it.

NEW WHITNEY HOUSTON SINGLE COULD BE OUT IN MARCH....

Whitney Houston will release her new album this year on J Records and a huge promotional campaign is already set up to ensure her comeback will be an explosive one. :

Here's some tidbits on Whitney's new single and album leaked from somebody who works at Arista records:
- Whitney will definately attend Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Party this Saturday, and will also perform.

- She will be arriving in L.A. on Thursday to rehearse for the Grammy party.

- She recorded 15 songs already but is going to record a few more so they have more song selections to choose from which will be finalized for the album.

- She's been re-recording a lot of songs in a higher register since she's been working on improving her voice. This is why they keep pushing the album back, because she's been re-recording a lot.

- She recorded a killer ballad with David Foster called "You Chose To Lose" as well as the R. Kelly ballad called "I Look To You."

- They hope to have the first single out no later than the end of March.

- She will definitely do a big interview with either Oprah or Diane Sawyer to discuss EVERYTHING.
So far so good. I look forwards to Whitney's comeback this year as well as her first ever performance of 2008.
