ROBIN THICKE: MAGIC [VIDEO PREMIERE]....

The talented Robin Thicke premiered his video for new single 'Magic' last night on BET's 106 & Park. The song is the lead single from his forthcoming album Something Else which is slated for a Sept 9th release. Check out the vid below:

The video was co-directed by Robin himself and Robert Hales. I thought the video was awesome. I was particularly loving the space scenes. The special effects were pretty cool as well. He could soooo get it doncha think ladies? I'm tingling just by seeing this, lol. The song, which I've been loving by the way, has been getting a lot of airtime in the UK especially in the recent Samsung commercials.

Robin Thicke's brand new single 'Magic' was played on French radio yesterday. Via the stream, you can now listen to the MQ radio rip below. The song is the lead single taken from his forthcoming album 'Something Else':

I am loving the upbeat R&B cut. It's really groovy; a proper summer anthem. I'm feeling it mainly because I dig the sample. I was expecting something a little more cutting edge and fresh but this is still a good track. The album is expected to be released this summer but a tentative release date has yet to be announced. The song will be digitally released on May 20th.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

A host of top R&B diva's took out their specially designed frocks to attend last night's Met Gala which went down in New York City. The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala 'Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy' opened with a celebrity spree, and Beyonce attended looking not-so-pregnant:



How many times is Beyonce going to recycle the same ole dress? She must have one in every single colour now. Her peach figure-hugging Armani Prive gown was pretty dull to say this is her first appearance at a high profile celebrity event since her marriage to Jay-Z. She did look a lil curvier than usual but I'm putting it down to all that Popeyes chicken she ate at her pre-wedding dinner party recently. Armani was the chairman of the event, whereas Anna Wintour hosted with Julia Roberts and George Clooney. Check out all the other songstresses that attended this prestigious fashion event after the fold.

Janet Jackson and her beau Jermaine Dupri was there:



Janet looked lovely in an Altier Versace white dress. But what the hell is going on with her latest album Discipline?

Now you know when it comes to these frock-n-fashion gala's, Jennifer Lopez doesn't miss a beat and hubby Marc Anthony was right by her side:



She looked stunning in her blue Alberta Ferretti gown which glimmered with emeralds at the neckline. I thought those twins of hers would've tamed her down a lil but Jen is still doing what Jen does best.

I didn't like her plain black Calvin Klein gown. There was no sexiness or elegance about it. No sophistication in its style. Nothing at all. Her face and make-up looked decent.

The biggest mess that night was no doubt Mary J Blige:



Well, a prestigious celebrity event wouldn't be a prestigious celebrity event without a walking disaster somewhere in the wings. Somebody's gotta shine, and somebody's gotta, well, look like grime. She wore an unappealing black Michael Kors gown. The best dress that night goes to Eva Longaria.

Christina Milian was at Cafe Martorano Saturday night having dinner with her music producer boyfriend Andre "Dre" Lyon, his music partner Marcello "Cool" Valenzano, and Queen Latifah:




The group sat at a large table near the front of the crowded restaurant, and before leaving made their way to the kitchen to personally thank Owner Steve Martorano. While Chrissy and Dre stayed put at the table, holding hands and kissing, Queen Latifah walked around saying hi to everyone. Amy Winehouse was spotted in the countryside of Henley, England over the weekend, chattering away on her mobile phone while smoking away a blunt in a black patterned bra and a pair of denim shorts:



She has one of the most preposterous bodies I've seen in a while. Her marriage to 25-year-old Blake Fielder-Civil is really over and that bump looks suspicious. Could she be expecting the baby of new lover 24-year-old Alex Haines? Hmmmmmm..... everybody and their suspicious bumps these days. Sigh.

Yesterday, Alicia Keys appeared on BET’s 106 & Park where she cohosted the entire show with Rosci and Terrence. On the show, she premiered her brand new video Teenage Love Affair.




I was definitely feeling Alicia's whole get-up. Cute. The singer has been forced to cancel several shows due to vocal problems. She is currently being treated by a physician, and is expected to return to the stage on Saturday, April 26th at the Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

Yesterday, Mya attended the INSPI(RED) Mothers’ Brunchat NY’s The Spottd Pig:

Keri Hilson attended the star-studded Investment Club’s Bosses Night Out at Luckie Food Lounge last night:



She looked fab as she kicked it with rapper Young Jeezy. I wonder why Usher didn't choose her for the Love In This Club remix?

SNEAK PEAKS: ROBIN THICKE'S NEW ALBUM 'SOMETHING ELSE'....

Robin Thicke is working on his third studio album, which is expected to drop this summer. BET's Sound Off recently attended Robin's recording studio for an exclusive preview of the R&B singer's upcoming new album, Something Else.

They did a track-by-track review of some of the new tracks that will make the album. When Robin isn't too busy recording his own project, he's working on others. Reportedly he's worked with Usher on his new album Here I Stand (May 27th) and Ashanti's The Declaration (June 3rd). Check out the sneak peak preview below.

SideStep- An uptempo number driven by a tantalizing bass line, Thicke’s feel good plea of receiving love from his significant other will not only put you and yours on the dance floor, but will also provide you with an old school type of confidence your parents were once accustomed to!

Magic- Accompanied with a barrage of horns and an assortment of congas, “Magic” propels the image of what seems like an inside look at the perfect relationship he and his wife, Paula Patton, have!

Dream World- Painting the perfect atmosphere of what HIS world would consist of, the mellow and melodic tune will initiate the thought process of your very own “Dream World!” Whether it’s an interracial couple walking down the dirt roads of Mississippi, or informing Van Gough he’s missed, Robin covers all corners.

Sweetest Love- Describing a type of love that couldn’t get any sweeter, Thicke’s approach to this subject could easily be pegged as a female favorite. I, for one, will have this song on repeat when in the presence of my significant other.

Mr. Loverman- Any female who’s listened to at least one song from Robin’s catalog probably wonders how the R&B vet fairs as a lover. But since he’s married, you’ll have to do one of two things: listen to this song or just ask his wife Paula Patton. And since a majority of you are equipped with common sense, I’m sure you’ll be listening to the song.

I'm really excited. His last two albums were on that crack. His first album was phenomenal. I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile.
