Last night, Nick Cannon was hard at work playing DJ at an Operation Smile fund-raising event in New York City. Mariah Carey wasn't too far away as she attended the event to give her Deejaying hubby some support. Check out the two getting all cuddly after his gig came to an end:
Mariah looked great wearing five-inch heels and a fitted Ralph Lauren dress. Mariah was also at the event because she is an ambassador for Operation Smile, which provides surgery to children with cleft palates and other facial deformities. Once Nick had completed his deejaying duties he joined his wife in the VIP room where they immediately put their arms around each other and began whispering. Before long, the two slipped outside into a waiting SUV.

RIHANNA MAKES BILLBOARD HISTORY // 'TAKE A BOW' IS NO 1 ON BILLBOARD HOT 100....
Rihanna has made a near-record rise to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 TODAY with her latest new single Take a Bow, which moved from 53-1. Opening-week digital downloads (267,000) is behind the sudden surge, as the track begins at No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs.

The song's bump is the second-best leap to No. 1 in Hot 100 history, trailing only Maroon 5's 64-1 jump with "Makes Me Wonder" last May. Coincidentally, Rihanna is featured on the band's "If I Never See Your Face Again" which will debut tomorrow at No. 57. With the lofty digital take, Rihanna now owns two of the top three opening week download tallies in chart history. Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" set the mark with 286,000 last month, surpassing the 277,000 moved by Rihanna's "Umbrella" when it debuted in the June 9, 2007 issue. "Take a Bow" is one of four new songs on an expanded CD/DVD edition of Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" album, due June 17 via Def Jam.
Well I be damned! I certainly wasn't expecting that. Take A Bow is an okay song, bland but okay; nothing groundbreaking. I really wasn't expecting it to do so well. Good for Rihanna! Her singles do absolutely amazing on the charts. To date, Rihanna's album Good Girl Gone Bad has sold 1.3 million in the United States since it was released almost a year ago, and 4.8 million worldwide.

Janet Jackson attended the Alexander McQueen Boutique opening in Los Angeles, last night. The singer showed up wearing a Japanese Kimono inspired gown, which coincidently contained the colours of her Def Jam label mate Mariah's latest album E=MC²:
The audacious dress that Janet wore is an actual Alexander McQueen creation. However, I don't think the look quite works on Janet. The sleeves are waaaay too flowy and long and it just didn't look right. Janet has also been locked in rehearsals for her forthcoming Discipline tour which will kick off this coming September.
Last night, Beyonce was spotted leaving Madison Square Garden after watching Kanye West's show. The singer tried to get with the summer blues with her neon yellow nails and Girl Scout-inspired green outfit:
She looked a hot mess, but then, this is Beyonce we're talking about. Still, the singer was all smiles. Chris has really let himself go. And he really needs to sort out his lil skin problem. Nick lovingly shielded his wife with his two-piece suit jacket. Ahh, the love. You can't fake love. When Nick dated Christina Milian, Kim Kardashian, and Selita Ebanks, I don't recall him getting all overly protective in public. The love is definitely for real and Nick clearly dotes on his wife. The singer, who looked absolutely fabulous in a sexy plunging red dress was also spotted at Fred Seagal store on the same night with Nick and her bodyguard in tow. I just hope Nick doesn't break her heart. We wouldn't want her to have another infamous breakdown as was the case back in 2001 when her Latin lover Luis Miguel broke up with her. Also, Love Story is confirmed as the third single and yes, Nick Cannon features in the video for that as well (reportedly, he directed her latest video Bye Bye). I hate that they're milking this marriage for all it's worth just to get bonus record sales. There are sooo many hot tracks on her album that are much more single-worthy. The couple were seen making their journey to a recording studio in the Meatpacking District. It's already been confirmed by MTV that Rihanna has started recording her 4th studio album, and rumour has it that Chris has also started recording new material for another studio album. We will definitely hear a duet from them in the foreseeable future. Also, I just realised how bad Chris's skin really is. It's rougher than sandpaper. Either that or it's rug burn from putting his face somewhere, lol. Anyway, he really needs to get it cleared.

The singer also performed at a private party for which he was paid a whopping £500,000 for two hours. Usher was hired by a wealthy young businessman as a surprise for his girlfriend's 26th birthday. Usher, who was later joined by his wife Tameka, stayed until 2am. Paying large bucks was small change for the the young businessman as he is No 10 on The Times' under-30 rich list after earning £60million from the sale of an internet design company. Must be nice indeed.

So some of you bitches always moan about Riri or Bey always getting the main feature of a post so today I changed all that. If Rih or Bey is in a post, they usually get top priority but not today. Hope ya'll happy, lol! Though, it's no big deal. Usually, the bigger the artist (due to popular demand), the higher chances that they'll get the main feature. It's always been that way. Anyway, this morning, Usher was in London yesterday to promote his latest single Love In This Club and album Here I Stand. May 27th is slowly starting to creep up on us.
The singer visited BBC's Radio One studio's where he did an interview about what's to be expected from his latest project. I can't wait to hear the new music. Usher always brings it musically, although the buzz is nowhere near as huge as YEAH. I guess Confessions is what Thriller was to Michael Jackson's career. The type of success you only get to smell once in a lifetime....

Yesterday, Rihanna and fella Chris Brown made their way to International Plaza. The couple were careful not to be seen together as they browsed Kenneth Cole. Whilst Chris skateboarded his way around the mall, Rihanna heading to the Cheesecake Factory with her best friend/assistant Melissa Ford in tow. Rihanna has deservingly become a recognised fashionista. And earlier this morning, a 25-year-old paparazzi Luis Santana (who took the pics above) was beaten and robbed near Vintage Ultra Lounge in downtown St. Pete while trying to take pictures of Chris celebrating his 19th birthday. Chris and Rihanna were at a private party at the club, so he headed over there and got permission from Vintage security to take photographs outside. After the club closed at 2 a.m., he waited outside for another half-hour or so, catching sight of Chris as he left. The singer's bodyguard then chased him into the street and beat him up also damaging his camera in the process. READ ON FOR THE FULL SCOOP. I really hope Chris didn't order his bodyguard to beat up that pap. Not a good look at all.

She looks flamboyantly hot. I always said that if she wasn't a singer she could be a glam or even a runway model because she has all the right qualities; the looks, the height, the photogenic edge. Rihanna on her hair:
“I kept telling my managers, I’m cutting my hair. I’m cutting my hair. And they’re like, ‘How short? Not too short. Cut it how short?’ And I’m like, ‘Up to here,’ ” Rihanna says, raising her hand up to her ear. “They never believed me. So when it was time to do the album cover [for Good Girl], the night before I cut it, I dyed it black. We went straight to the photo shoot, and no one at the record label knew what I looked like. When we sent the pictures over, they saw the hair and they all loved it. They loved it.”
On the success of “Umbrella:”
“That song is very, very magical,” says the singer, nodding her heart-shape face. “Because even when I travel, I can’t believe the kind of people that know that record. Their age, their nationality, they don’t speak English, but they all know that song.”
On her formerly alcoholic father:
“That was way, way, way back,” she says, shaking her head and staring at her dish of pasta. “We’re friends now. Now my dad is like the coolest person on the planet. He doesn’t smother me. He lets me live my life. And he’s been like that a lot, even when I was younger. He would watch me making a mistake and he wouldn’t stop me. My dad, he lets me make it and then I learn.”
On singing in front of Jay-Z for the first time:
“I remember staring into everybody’s eyes in the room while I was singing, and at that point, I was fearless,” she says about the audition. “But the minute I stopped singing, I was like, Oh my God, Jay-Z is sitting right in front of me.”
On the rumor about a relationship with Jay-Z:
“Well, it’s crazy that you ask me that. People know that it’s not true,” she says, straightening up. “I think it’s kinda a cliché question, and people know it’s not true, so I don’t even know why it’s still addressed to this day. I get asked about it all the time and I’m like, You’re asking, but you know the answer. I don’t even like to address it anymore.”
On Chris Brown:
