RAY-J SINGS THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER....
Ray-J and his on-off companion Whitney Houston attended the Calzaghe vs. Hopkins boxing match in Las Vegas last month where Ray-J performed the Star Spangled Banner. The performance has only just unveiled itself. Check it out:
Brandy's lil brother is only showing us why he's played second fiddle to Brandy all these years. The boy has no singing talent whatsover and this performance further proves that point. I'll always continue to say he sounds like he's vocally constipated. With his vocals and a challenging song such as the Star Spangled Banner, it just wasn't going to work was it? It's like asking Cassie to sing a classic Whitney Houston ballad.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....
Last night, oddball couple Ray-J and Whitney Houston attended the Hopkins vs. Calzaghe "Battle of The Planet" in The PH Ring. The event took place at The Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada:
Whitney looks like she's still on that smack again, looking real high and smoked out. Well, she must be, now that she's reconciled her relationship with Ray-J all of a sudden. Her nasty looking bedraggled wig looked like it was plonked on top of her head without careful positioning. She probably didn't take the Clive Davis news all that well, and said fuck it.
The singer was also spotted at LAX airport this weekend with daughter Bobbi Christina:
Bobbi is growing up nicely.
Last night, Rihanna performed at the Glow In The Dark tour which went down at the HP Pavilion on April 19, 2008 in San Jose, California:

RAY-J SELLS 39,000 COPIES IN HIS FIRST WEEK.... OUCH!!!
In a last ditch attempt to give his album All I Feel an extra sales boost, Ray J performed his latest hit single Sexy Can I with Yung Berg this week on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
It didn't really do much wonders as All I Feel sold a stomach churning 39,000 copies to date in its first week. I thought it would have at least sold around the 50K mark especially with a hit single that peaked at no 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. All he must feel now is down in the dumps since no one really cared about his one-dimensional effort. You couldn't even pay me to download his shit for free, and that alone speaks volumes.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT // LEONA LEWIS WILL HAVE NO 1 ALBUM IN THE STATES // JORDIN SPARKS ADMITS THAT CHRIS & RIHANNA ARE DATING....
Leona Lewis was spotted departing JFK airport yesterday. She's been working her butt off all week and it's looks like it's about to pay off. According to first-day predictions, Leona's latest album Spirit, which was released in the US on Tuesday is set to debut at #1 on next week's HITS Album Sales chart, edging near 200k.
So not only has Bleeding Love got to no 1 on Billboard but she'll have a double victory with Spirit as well. I am really pleased for her. Those are fantastic sales for a newcomer artist. I'm sure Simon Cowell and Clive Davis will be sipping champagne once everything has been made official. Good for her. She deserves all of her success on both sides of the Atlantic. I guess she'll be getting a top of the range merc now, at Mr Cowell's expense.

Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted YET AGAIN in New York yesterday, and did everything possible not to be seen together as usual. The pair were spotted near their Manhattan hotel. Here they are on separate occasions:
Rihanna looked absolutely wonderful. That is one bad heffa, waxy ears and all. Bitch is untouchable, OK?!?!? Anyway, they can front all they like. Jordin Sparks has just went and told their business even though they don't want to confirm their relationship. She talked about when her and Chris shot the video for her latest single No Air, and Rihanna came on the set to support her man. Check it out in her own words:

Last night, Rihanna performed a concert held at the Highline Ballroom. The concert helped fund the BELIEVE Foundation, which Rihanna created in 2006 to "ensure the health and well-being of our future leaders." BELIEVE is also "committed to creating change in the lives of our youth by providing, educational, financial, social and medical support when and wherever it is needed." Reportedly, he has agreed to meet his ex-flame Britney Spears at a family barbecue, on the insistence of her father Jamie Spears. He was called in aid of Britney’s recovery from mental illness issues. And he agreed to talk to the Toxic singer face to face. The couple dated for nearly four years and split in 2002. From then, things got nasty - Justin publicly telling a radio station that Britney sucked him off, the Cry Me A River video, the constant bitching about her cheating and so forth. Maybe, he's not such a prick after all. I just hope this isn't Chris and Rihanna in a few years time. They are the EXACT same age Justin and Brit were when they first started dating.

As for Michelle, her single Break The Dawn has been getting a great reception and her forthcoming album Unexpected is scheduled to drop in August which is quite a while so anything can go. Her fans are petitioning for the album to be released in June or early July. They are worried that interest for the album will wane and want to see an earlier release. As a result, they want as many signatures as possible and want you to spread the petition to as many blogs as possible so that Matthew Knowles gets the message. HERE IT IS.
Universal Motown is such a crappy label but their artists Lloyd, Teyana Taylor, Keisha Chante, JoJo and Ryan Leslie all attended the industry event celebrating Hearst's extended partnership with the record label:

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....
Check out Janet Jackson departing a flight out of LAX airport in Los Angeles. Apparently, the 41-year-old singer was jetting to Japan's Narita International Airport earlier today. Janet has been quite isolated surrounding her latest album Discipline but she's decided to globe trot and promote that album - starting with Japan.
Her bodyguard looks just like Vin Diesel. I had to take a second look. The star looked more meatier than usual. You can see it in her face. I doubt she's pregs though. She looked good from a far but close up shots clearly isn't her best friend. When she gets older, her issues with food will catch up with her in the long run. The day will soon come where Janet regrets putting a plate of food and a yoyo neck in neck.
Beyonce was also spotted leaving her apartment at the Bloomberg building New York City on yesterday afternoon:
She was looking really pasty and the all-in-black outfit didn't do her any favours. I liked her Chanel handbag though. It looked like she was attending her husband Jay-Z's funeral than his Atlanta show. This is her second appearance since marrying her longtime beau last week Friday. I'm surprised she's not ducking and hiding like she has been in the last few candids. Marriage life must be pretty good for Ms Carter because she waved at the fans and the paps as she made her way. Mama Tina and Jay-Z were also seen leaving the Midtown Manhattan building but left at separate times. Apparently, they all made their way to Atlanta where Jay-Z was playing a concert with Mary J. Blige at Atlanta's Phillips Arena. And whilst the two of them are keeping tight-lipped about their wedding, Beyonce is speaking about it - only through her Bling Bling that is. The 26-year-old was spotted at the Atlanta show yesterday night with her pal Usher flashing a "whopping hunk of diamond" on her wedding ring finger.
So, I see Rihanna and her beau Chris Brown were up to their usual shenanigans again. The pair did nothing to cement their denial that they're an item. In fact, they ignited it even further when they were both spotted out and about in New York City last night, making a few stops together before heading back to the Chelsea hotel:

Rihanna was running wild all over New York City last night or so it appears. She was spotted out and about with best friend Melissa Forde before attending Melissa's surprise birthday party which took place at Star Lounge. But before the party took place she was spotted leaving a tattoo shop after touching up the tatt on her neck. Her beau Chris was also seen leaving the parlor and birthday party. This chick ought to be careful that her obsession with tattoo's doesn't get out of control. I personally think that milkyway tattoo with the stars on her back is just plain stupid and childish. But then, Chris who STILL has the kid in him can be blamed for that I suppose.

As well as her own birthday party recently, she attended Pharrell's 35th birthday party last week and she'll be attending her man's birthday party next month on May 5th when Chris turns 19 (she also attended his 18th last year).
Justin Timberlake was spotted watching the game between the Memphis Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks during the 2008 NCAA Men’s National Championship game at the Alamodome on April 7, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas:
Justin was there to support his hometown team the Memphis Tigers but left disappointed. Kansas won the game in overtime, 75-68, after Memphis squandered a 9 point lead with two minutes to go in regulation.

Kelly Rowland, Estelle, Craig David, Alesha Dixon and others attended the Capital 95.8 Awards for Help A London Child at the Park Plaza Riverbank on March 20, 2008 in London:
So what's going on with these artists? Kelly Rowland looked cute. Her re-released album Ms Kelly leaked a week ago but you can't even pay me to download it for free. Estelle could have applied some lotion to her knees. I am seeing more ash than an actual ashtray. Get it together gurrl. Her single, "American Boy" is doing great on both sides of the Atlantic. The single is poised to take the #1 slot in the UK this week and her album Shine will hit stores on April 29th. She also performed the track on BBC Radio 1's 'Live Lounge' recently. Craig David looked real dapper (still got a soft spot for him although he's looking a lot more rugged and not the fresh-cut pretty boy who graced the scene 9 years ago). Apparently, Craig wants to record the theme song for the new James Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' but accepts that he'll end up playing second fiddle to Amy Winehouse. The singer will also go on a World Tour in May in support of his latest album 'Trust Me'. Alesha Dixon continues to glow despite hard times. She has a new man in her life, since she was cheated on by ex-hubby Harvey. The singer is reportedly dating Aston Villa footballer John Carew. She was also offered a presenting job to host the new Gladiators but turned it down, and is now working towards a new reality show.
Yesterday in Beverly Hills, Usher and his wife Tameka were seen going into a specialty boutique store called Bottega Veneta:
Why do they always look so agitated? Usher really needs to start fixing his face forreal otherwise it will start to crack. The singer was also spotted on the set of his new video, this past weekend, for his no 1 smash hit single Love In The Club (far right).
On Tuesday, Monica was spotted in Atlanta with her fiance Rocko Da Don and their oldest son Rodney at his CD signing. Monica was at DTLR to support her man in promoting his debut album Self Made:
Her three month old son baby Romelo was there for the ride (not pictured) but he was in the good company of family. Monica's little boy is growing up to be really handsome. On the music front, Monica's new album is gearing for an August release with a single out by June. She has finished the album and has worked with Polow Da Don, Missy, Brian Cox and many others.

Keyshia Cole is feautured inTrina's upcoming new video for I Gotta Thang For You and here are a few screen caps of Keyshia specifically. The video was shot in Miami, Florida:
Keyshia looked in top notch form. I am loving the black hair. I know I keep stressing this but the transformation has been wonderful. The singer is hard at work on her third studio album. The project is scheduled for a Christmas release and it will feature contributions from and Polow Da Don, Scott Storch, Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins & Theron 'Neff-U' Feemster amongst others.

She wasn't looking so pregnant in these pictures, but I can still see a slight bump underneath her white shirt (her stomach is usually washboard flat) and her face had pregnancy written all over it but in time we'll see.
