KELLY ROWLAND PERFORMS ON 'T4 ON THE BEACH'.....

I did say that once Kelly Rowland's performances on T4 On The Beach hit the net I'd post them. And here they are. The 27-year-old was a headline act at the UK gig in which she performed earlier today. Check out her two performances of 'Work' and 'Dilemma' below:

Wow. Kelly didn't just 'work' that stage. She WORKED.IT.OUUUUUTTTT! I loved her Dilemma performance. The singer who is also recording her third solo album definitely has stage charisma and the crowd was on fire. She also sang a Destiny's Child medley which you can watch after the cut. Upon seeing that, I really miss Destiny's Child.

Earlier this week, Amerie attended and co-hosted a party in Atlanta with the NFL's Deon Grant:



The singer performed throughout the night and chilled with Chilli of TLC fame and her new label mate Ne-yo. Now that Amerie is officially signed to Def Jam I expect to see a lot of her and Ne-yo at the same events in the coming months. Amerie is also using Atlanta as her main base for recording her new album I'm told, with producers such as Bryan Micheal Cox, Adonis, Wyldcard as well as Ne-yo. She also did some new work with producer No ID some weeks back.

Ashanti hit up the 2008 ESPY Awards Wednesday night in an interesting style of dress:



Not feeling it. But she HAS been looking good over the last couple of weeks though. I'll admit that.

Fergie and Justin Timberlake also hit up that very same event:



JT was trying to be the funny man that he thinks he is, but he should leave it to Mike Myers. Fergie got on stage with 24 actor Kiefer Sutherland. I can't wait for season 7 next year. They've resurrected Tony from the dead (who has gone over to the dark side it seems). This has never really happened before. Interesting. I wonder what the producers have up their sleeve this time.

Kelly Rowland continued to make the most of her 'UK citizenship'. She was spotted at the Lotus 'Project Eagle' celebrity unveiling at the London Transport Museum on Wednesday:



So long. Fair well. It won't be long before we're seeing her again.

Raven Symone was spotted looking clogged up at BPM Magazine’s 12th Anniversary party on Wednesday:

Over the weekend, Rihanna performed at the Casablanca Concert on Saturday, July 12th, 2008 in Casablanca, Morocco:



Cute outfit. I'm hearing that her boyfriend Chris Brown was there as well. Reportedly, he also performed a set. I haven't seen any pictures though. But I'm reading he was definitely there, which is expected anyway. When are those two NEVER together?

She also performed 'Umbrella' with her former mentor Jay-Z at the 3rd Annual Thisday 'Africa Rising' Festival in Abuja, Nigeria::




I wonder if those two will ever collaborate again.

Kelly Rowland was making the most of her secondary home, which is London, the UK! Over the weekend she was spotted leaving the BBC Radio 1 studio's:



Kelly gets MAJOR love here. She spends more time here than her own home, the United States. I wouldn't even be surprised if she's already purchased her house here. She's been talking about buying one for the longest time now but it makes perfect sense. All this week, she joined 1Xtra to present the Breakfast Show with Trevor Nelson.

Spice Girl Mel B was spotted enjoying a family day while lunching at The Grove in Los Angeles with her husband Stephen Belafonte and her two daughters Phoenix Chi and Angel Iris Murphy Brown:



Angel is such an adorable little girl, further emphasising Eddie Murphy to be a BIGGER ass than ever before. I don't get any man who'll punish his own child just because of the mother. If he truly wanted to know his child, he would have done. And now she's going to grow up calling another man "daddy".

November will definitely be a historic moment no matter who wins! Can't wait. Oh, and Alicia's younger brother (on her dad's side) has also accompanied Alicia on her UK trip (see middle picture). He is such a cutie but he looks like he's only 17. Anyway, the singer took her 'As I Am' tour to Paris last night. And she may very well be chosen to sing the Bond theme for the next James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace. Singers Beyonce, Leona Lewis, Duffy and, most recently, Annie Lennox were rumoured to be given the song. Amy Winehouse was the first singer linked to the movie, but she apparently never finished recording her song with producer Mark Ronson. A rep for Alicia declined to comment. But I'm reading that Alicia is a strong contendar and that the new Bond theme will be a soul/rock number by Alicia and the White Stripes. Hmmmmm.....

TLC's Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins attended the 2008 Sickle Cell Disease Jazz Event at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue last month, with her boyfriend of 4 years, NFL ball player, Takeo Spikes:




The Jazz Event is the primary and largest fund-raising event hosted by the Community Advocacy Committee, a volunteer group focused on raising awareness and monetary support for the Sickle Cell Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. T-Boz not only suffers from the disease, she's also the national spokeswoman for the Sickle Cell Disease Association. In 1996, the 38-year-old singer went public with her disease. She's made her biggest impact as a spokeswoman for the association. She has beaten the odds that are set against about 75,000 African Americans with deadly sickle cell disease, an inherited blood disorder that causes red blood cells to become sickle-shaped, making it difficult for them to pass through blood vessels. She wasn't supposed to live past her 20s, let alone sing and dance her way to stardom with TLC before giving birth to her baby girl Chase at 30. She says her optimism and faith in God have, fortunately, kept her free of strokes and blood transfusions. Good for her. She's the inspiration that we soooo need.

Definetely one of her fab days. Kelly will also join fellow R&B singer Ne-yo in the lineup for this year's 'T4 On The Beach'. The concert will be broadcast live on Channel 4 and takes place in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset on July 20th. Kelly is also set to perform in Paris as part of the 25-city 'Nike+Human Race' which will take place on Aug 31st. Kanye West will be headlining the concert in Los Angeles. "This race is bringing together hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world to run and listen to some great music while serving a higher cause, and I'm excited to perform in L.A. as part of the grand finale," West said in a statement.

KELLY ROWLAND RAISES HIV AWARENESS IN AFRICA....

Kelly Rowland paid a visit to Africa where she took a HIV and Aids test to raise awareness of the deadly diseases - in a bid to try and dissolve the stigma surrounding the illnesses:

The former Destiny’s Child star decided to visit Nairobi to encourage the country's young people to get tested for the illness, which is rife in the Kenyan capital. The singer is an ambassador for MTV's Staying Alive Foundation, which aims to reduce discrimination against HIV and Aids victims, and has visited projects in Tanzania and Kenya to promote the charity. She says: "Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to HIV infection, and it is important for everyone to know their HIV status. The quicker you know your status, the sooner you can receive treatment if you're HIV+, and reduce the risk of inadvertently infecting future partners." I really admire Kelly. Good for her. People act like you can catch it by touching or sitting on the same chair. It's just another unfortunate disease where people can still live normal lives but struggle to do so due to the discrimination surrounding it.

KELLY ROWLAND PERFORMS IN AUSTRALIA....

After doing a barrage of promotion in the UK and France for her re-release Ms Kelly, Ms Rowland has been in Australia this week and she performed her previous hit single 'Work' (Freemasons remix) on a TV show over there called Rove. Here's the interview (and the performance is after the fold):

Kelly talks about her love of fries and ice cream and if she could she'd eat them every day but in order to maintain her stick-thin frame, she has to refrain from eating the food that she loves. Unlike Beyonce, I never knew Kelly even had cause to watch her weight. She's always been skinny. Not skinny on Michelle's level but she's always been svelte. I always thought she was one of the lucky ones with a really fast metabolism (eat anything she wants and not put on any weight). She also talks about not getting her auditioned role for the Sex In The City movie. Kelly has been doing the promotional rounds in Australia as she also performed an exclusive acoustic version of 'Daylight' on Australian TV show 'Sunrise' which you can watch by clicking here. She also appeared on The Morning Show, Good News Week, Video Hits, Channel V, Sky News, The Music Jungle, Eclipse Music TV, Getaway, MTV, and all major radio interviews. Kelly will also be recording an episode of the upcoming Australian series of Project Runway, set to screen on Arena in August. And she'll also be in the new Estelle video as well. *SMH* @ her Sunrise interview when they asked her about Beyonce's wedding. The whole thing has died down and EVERYONE around them have pretty much confirmed it from the likes of their pals Mary J Blige, John Legend, Usher, and Tricky Stewart. As most of you have noticed, updates have been slow I know. Stop buggin', lol. It's just that things have been hectic as of late but bear with me. Things should be back to normal shortly. This week, Kelly Rowland attended MTV's Xbox Party which took place in Sydney, Australia:



I wish she'd retire that outfit though. I've seen her rock it too many times in the last couple of weeks. Time to switch things up a lil - from head to toe.

Ashanti was also spotted showing off her unshaven armpits at her listening party in New York City:



Ashanti is on course to sell only 80,000 copies of her new album The Declaration which was released on Tuesday. For all the promotion she's been doing I expected her to have higher sales. I know she's been on the decline with each album but damn. This is evident that no one cares anymore. No wonder she's talking about putting music at the backburner to concentrate on a full time acting career. I guess folks been over her and 2002 will never come back. Kelly Rowland has been ragged on for over a year for selling EXACTLY that amount. Now Ashanti has joined the club.

It's a shame all this promotion isn't paying off, especially since The Declaration isn't a bad album. I guess albums no longer sell on the merit of quality. So she can wave goodbye to her singing career. At least she's got her songwriting to fall back on.

The singer is currently in the studio recording a brand new album. It's no secret that Amerie was battling to come out of her contract with Columbia, and it's since been reported that she's made the transition to Island Def Jam.

KELLY ROWLAND GETS GANGSTER AFTER SOMEBODY THROWS HAT IN HER FACE....

Over the weekend, Kelly Rowland performed at the Great American Gay Day 2008 event and whilst doing so, someone threw a hat at her and it hit her right in the face. We've seen quite a few situations regarding how other singers have reacted towards getting objects thrown at them on stage. Akon infamously brought his thrower onto the stage and indulged in physical humiliation by throwing the kid into the crowd and when Trey Songz had ice thrown at him, he dived into the crowd to give the culprit a good ole mean beatdown. Well, here's Kelly's reaction to her encounter:

LOL! It's not known whether the hat was thrown as a gift or if it was meant as a you-suck gesture, but Kelly obviously took it a diss and called out the guy for it. Kelly is really feisty underneath that good girl persona.

KELLY SPEAKS ON LOSING "SEX IN THE CITY" ROLE TO J. HUD....

Kelly Rowland shows her disdain for not winning Jennifer Hudson's role in 'Sex In The City'.

The fact that she actually lost a job over an American Idol reject who is seen as more popular than someone in "the biggest girl group of all time" is rather embarrassing, especially when the role is as non-challenging as playing an assistant (of all things). The irony that Jen outshines two former Destiny's Child singers in the acting field. Would loved to have been a fly on the wall listening in on Beyonce and Kelly's conversation regarding the situation.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

Last night, Alicia Keys and a solo-Nick Cannon was on hand to attend the opening gala of the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods, which was brimming with many anticipated guests and, yes, plenty of celebs:



The twosome also attended a VIP party at the event, which was hosted by non other than Mr Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs, King of the bling parties. Alicia also took to the stage to perform some of her radio-savvy hit singles.

The singer was also joined on stage by John Mayer, who put on quite a show that night:




Here's an account of what went down: Action in the Theatre is pretty cool, though. Mayer is onstage, backed by a full orchestra and house band. He sings the R&B-style ballad, 'Waiting For the World to Change,' and then a straight blues tune. It's an interesting sociological experiment on his part inasmuch as most of the guests for this soiree have never experienced "blues" beyond a pesky tourist season on Martha's Vineyard. Niiice. I'm itching to hear some of his music now. I'm told this white boy has soul which is quite believable after hearing him do the damn thang on Alicia's duet Lesson Learned. One of my favourite tracks on As I Am.

Kelly Rowland flourished at this week's 61st annual Cannes Film Festival, rocking a brand new Cleopatra-looking wig:




The singer also performed at the star-studded event. No cookies for guessing what she was singing. I've also added some candids whilst she was out and about in Cannes. Her Ms Kelly re-release entered the UK album charts at no 23.

Yesterday, Danity Kane took to the stage at Z100's Zootopia 2008 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey:




Once again they sang the same ole songs - Showstoppin', Poetry and Damaged. It was a sold-out gig. I hope we don't end up waiting another 6 months to see their new video. Knowing Diddy, that just might be the case.

Fresh from clubbing together in DC over the weekend, LOVEBIRDS Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted yesterday afternoon checking out of their midtown hotel in New York City. Rihanna, who looked super trendy in a yellow leather jacket was the first one to depart the hotel, whilst her boyfriend followed afterwards doing everything they could not to be pictured together (a bit too late to start playing coy now). Check out the young lovers departing their hotel yesterday:



Chris, looked dangerously sexy, as he ditched his clean cut 'young boy' look for the more rugged look. New growth of stubble is clearly seen and the cute 19-year-old is certainly transitioning himself from boy to man very nicely. As well as that, he was also rocking a tiny fro, allowing his usual low-cut hair to grow out. Yes, Toya sure is loving this look. And Riri's black and purple Guiseppe Zanotti lace-up boots are super hot!

Kelly Rowland looked stunning in a shiny blue Donna Karan dress when she attended the London premiere of "Sex & The City: The Movie" yesterday:



Kelly is adamant that despite the latest Internet criticisms of her blatant wig and it's faux-scalp parting, she is not about to ditch the look any time soon. I miss the days when black folk actually made the effort to have a stunning weave sewn in. I could never rock something knowing full well that someone can pull it off at any moment. I REFUSE to set myself up for that type of embarrassment. It's just plain ole laziness on her behalf. She may not have Beyonce's bank balance but I'm pretty certain she has more money than ordinary folk and she can't even make the effort with the hair *smh* You know how devious some people can be. After all, in all honesty, if someone dared me to pull off somebody's wig, I actually would. And I'd run for my life straight after. Ugh. They're just so fake it's unbelievable.

Yesterday, Leona Lewis was spotted arriving back in Los Angeles. Leona is back to shoot her brand new video for Forgive Me, which should be good, because she's FINALLY releasing an upbeat track. I guess this means we should see more personality. Check her out:



The singer looked casual and chilled as she treated herself to retail therapy along the way, which is deserving since she's been working her butt off like mad lately. The pretty 23-year-old also survived a terrifying earthquake in Japan where she was promoting her album Spirit last week. Leona was sleeping in her penthouse suite at the 5-star Grand Hyatt Hotel when the tremors began. As well as that, in a recent blog entry, Leona says the tremors began when she was performing on stage. Luckily for the singer, she came out of it unscathed. It's really sad, because thousands of people have died and a lot of the victims were children.

Last night, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and their spouses Marc Anthony and Jordan Bratman attended the Christian Dior Cruise 2009 Collection, which went down in New York:



Christina was looking like the old Christina. She really needs to tone down the bad make-up, and what's up with Jenny's nose? It looks like somebody punched it. I wouldn't be at all surprised at those rumours that Marc likes to bust a cap in that ass from time to time. He's so controlling and insecure. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Jen is still a bad bitch though. And what is it with pop beauties and their distinctly unattractive husbands? Don't they not realise that they take away from the glam? Stay their asses home because if it weren't for their high-profile wives, they wouldn't be getting any invites plain and simple.

The party was held on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank and had a carnival-like theme which was apparently completed with 10-ft. elephant topiaries, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, carousel, dunk tank and stilt-walkers. Sounds like fun because, well, they're ETERNALLY 12, right? Right. By the way I didn't catch eppy 17 of Gossip Girl last night. So feel free to fill me in. I don't mind spoilers. I'll definetely catch it tonight though.

A lot of activity went down over the weekend - festivities, clubbing and various events took place and many of our favourite (and not so favourite) R&B stars were out in full participation. Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger was spotted arriving at Villa in Hollywood last night, and decided to give the paps an eyeful of her undergarments:



Fortunately, she didn't do a Britney. She happily flaunted her pink panties to match her dress. Surely, she could have come out of the car much better than that. She must have known the paps would have been up there like flies on shit. Well, at least she shaves. That counts for something I guess.

Raven Symone was spotted segwegging in LA yesterday:



Can someone explain to me why this chick is segwegging? I mean, she might be overweight but she's not obese. I'm sure if she spent most of her time walking, some of the weight would actually drop off. Her lack of self-discipline is really disappointing.

Wow. I just can't get over that jaw. It's a strong one. I try hard not to focus on it but when you look at her face that's all you see. Still, neither one of us know her really. Underneath all the insecurity, she could be a good person in spite of her "issues" and criminal past (She was arrested in 2005 for stealing clothes from Phipps plaza in Atlanta). I'm sure snagging Usher from Chilli and marrying the multi-millionaire served its purpose. No wonder she's left the kids and the couple's new-born son behind. She'd rather trail after her cash-cow hubby all over the world to ensure he doesn't get up to any tricks with girl fans, particularly ones that look like Keri Hilson. Anyway, footballer Rio Ferdinand is a huuuge fan of Usher, so they chilled, whilst Usher sat down with global social media network Bebo for his first ever live, streamed, interactive interview where he spoke directly to the fans. The interview featured tracks from his forthcoming album Here I Stand, and folks were invited to ask him questions by becoming a fan of his Bebo profile at www.bebo.com/usher. The singer also performed at a private party for which he was paid a whopping £500,000 for two hours. Usher was hired by a wealthy young businessman as a surprise for his girlfriend's 26th birthday. Usher, who was later joined by his wife Tameka, stayed until 2am. Paying large bucks was small change for the the young businessman as he is No 10 on The Times' under-30 rich list after earning £60million from the sale of an internet design company. Must be nice indeed.

Each year, Step Up's star-studded Inspiration Awards fundraising events celebrate the year's most inspiring women, recognizing celebrities, VIPs and members of the organization. This year's recipients were chosen for their ongoing support of Step Up Women's Network and for being outstanding role models for women and young girls. Step Up has grown to include 50,000 supporters who have raised millions of dollars and donated more than 100,000 volunteer hours to the organization's programs. The group is a national nonprofit membership organization with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Mary J. Blige spoke at the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. (FFAWN) Launch this past Friday:




Mary has set up the foundation to help women develop careers and gain self-confidence. The charity will fund scholarships, grants and programs that help women gain confidence and skills to succeed in their careers.

Whitney received raving reviews for her performance at the event. The 44-year-old was paid £100,000 for the gig. Her 15-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina also put in an appearance when she started to sing her previous smash hit My Love is Your Love. Whitney wore a tight dress by British designers Bodyamr and looked amazing. She also belted out other previous classics of hers such as I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Saving All My Love and the biggest one to date - I Will Always Love You. Altogether, the event raised an impressive £1.5m.
