Earlier this week, Amerie attended and co-hosted a party in Atlanta with the NFL's Deon Grant:
The singer performed throughout the night and chilled with Chilli of TLC fame and her new label mate Ne-yo. Now that Amerie is officially signed to Def Jam I expect to see a lot of her and Ne-yo at the same events in the coming months. Amerie is also using Atlanta as her main base for recording her new album I'm told, with producers such as Bryan Micheal Cox, Adonis, Wyldcard as well as Ne-yo. She also did some new work with producer No ID some weeks back.

DAMN....USHER IS ALREADY TALKING ABOUT RE-RELEASNG 'HERE I STAND' [EVEN BEFORE ORIGINAL CD HAS YET TO DROP]....
Usher's smash hit album 'Confessions' is what catapulted him into the mega-star that he is today, having gone Diamond in the United States. But when his arch rival Justin Timberlake had the Rollingstone cover proclaiming the former N-Sync singer as the new King of Pop, I remember when this infuriated Usher to the ninth power. And he went onto say the following: "There simply is no comparison between me and Justin. He can't even stand in the same lane as me, ever."
Marriage and fatherhood appears to have tamed Usher for the greater good. Apparently, the 29-year-old has apologised for his not-so-off-the-mark comments: "I regret it, because he's a great friend of mine now. I was young and didn't know better. We were both being kids and he turned out to be a really cool guy, and we're talking about doing something together for the repackaging of my album. If we ever worked together, though, it would be the biggest record ever." Repackaging? Guess he feels really good about his album's potential for success. It's as if he's admitting to the new CD being crap and that a collaboration with JT would save it should the album tank. Sorry Usher, but FutureSex/LoveSounds DOES shit on Here I Stand. Usher is CLEARLY the better artist of the two (vocally and stage-wise) but carrying on the feud in this day and age would be childish especially since Chris Brown is kicking both their asses in imitating Michael Jackson.

Last night, newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were spotted leaving Waverly Inn restaurant, after having dinner with the likes LA Reid and pals:
Wow. Mariah was looking extra MAAAARVELOUS! If this is what married life does to a woman, then marrying her much younger beau wasn't such a bad idea after all. Talk about an amazing class-A UPGRADE! And that ring is absolutely beeeautiful! Mariah looks so happy. And Nick is CLEARLY starstruck. Check out the man hating in that second pic, lol.
The couple also attended TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World event yesterday in New York City:
Another UPGRADE. Mariah must have insisted on a wardrobe make-over. She looks absolutely scrumptious. Mariah hasn't looked this good in years and could EASILY have been a young woman in her 20's. Nick looks straight goofy, and older beyond his 27 years. Mariah is killing him practically.

My favourite singer Tamia (and stylist June Ambrose) attended an early Mothers Day charity fundraiser event in Los Angeles this week to salute mothers staying at Ronald McDonald House:
The "spa and wellbeing" event was hosted by singer Tamia, supermodel Cindy Crawford, Marc Anthony's ex-wife/model Dayanara Torres and stylist June Ambrose. Mothers with sick children were treated to manicures and neck and shoulder massages, make-up tips, and consultations provided by JAFRA Cosmetics International Inc., as well as gift bags filled with beauty items. During the celebration Ambrose offered moms exclusive styling tips typically reserved for her VIP clients, while Tamia entertained discussions with the group about the joys and challenges of motherhood. Gotta love Tamia. Still the inspiration I've always said she was.

She's been promoting her latest single 'Daylight' like crazy. The sad thing about it is that in the UK, it'll be a top 10 hit without a doubt.

Last night, Queen of Pop Madonna played a small gig for 2,200 of her fans in New York's Roseland Ballroom. She performed a couple of songs from her latest new album Hard Candy. Check out her electric performance of 4 minutes with Justin Timberlake:
At 50, Madonna still knows how to put on one hell of a show. I actually enjoyed her performances for the most part but nothing in the world can still make me listen to that damn album. I think I will now. Her other performances are enclosed after the fold.

Leona Lewis was spotted departing JFK airport yesterday. She's been working her butt off all week and it's looks like it's about to pay off. According to first-day predictions, Leona's latest album Spirit, which was released in the US on Tuesday is set to debut at #1 on next week's HITS Album Sales chart, edging near 200k.
So not only has Bleeding Love got to no 1 on Billboard but she'll have a double victory with Spirit as well. I am really pleased for her. Those are fantastic sales for a newcomer artist. I'm sure Simon Cowell and Clive Davis will be sipping champagne once everything has been made official. Good for her. She deserves all of her success on both sides of the Atlantic. I guess she'll be getting a top of the range merc now, at Mr Cowell's expense.

Rihanna looked absolutely wonderful. That is one bad heffa, waxy ears and all. Bitch is untouchable, OK?!?!? Anyway, they can front all they like. Jordin Sparks has just went and told their business even though they don't want to confirm their relationship. Last night, Rihanna performed a concert held at the Highline Ballroom. The concert helped fund the BELIEVE Foundation, which Rihanna created in 2006 to "ensure the health and well-being of our future leaders." BELIEVE is also "committed to creating change in the lives of our youth by providing, educational, financial, social and medical support when and wherever it is needed." Reportedly, he has agreed to meet his ex-flame Britney Spears at a family barbecue, on the insistence of her father Jamie Spears. He was called in aid of Britney’s recovery from mental illness issues. And he agreed to talk to the Toxic singer face to face. The couple dated for nearly four years and split in 2002. From then, things got nasty - Justin publicly telling a radio station that Britney sucked him off, the Cry Me A River video, the constant bitching about her cheating and so forth. Maybe, he's not such a prick after all. I just hope this isn't Chris and Rihanna in a few years time. They are the EXACT same age Justin and Brit were when they first started dating.
Also at the event was another prick, Polow Da Don, alongside Mel B and her husband Stephan Belafonte, AND Lional Richie with his two daughters Nicole Richie and his youngest one (the little girl is his biological daughter):

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....
Check out Janet Jackson departing a flight out of LAX airport in Los Angeles. Apparently, the 41-year-old singer was jetting to Japan's Narita International Airport earlier today. Janet has been quite isolated surrounding her latest album Discipline but she's decided to globe trot and promote that album - starting with Japan.
Her bodyguard looks just like Vin Diesel. I had to take a second look. The star looked more meatier than usual. You can see it in her face. I doubt she's pregs though. She looked good from a far but close up shots clearly isn't her best friend. When she gets older, her issues with food will catch up with her in the long run. The day will soon come where Janet regrets putting a plate of food and a yoyo neck in neck.
Beyonce was also spotted leaving her apartment at the Bloomberg building New York City on yesterday afternoon:
She was looking really pasty and the all-in-black outfit didn't do her any favours. I liked her Chanel handbag though. It looked like she was attending her husband Jay-Z's funeral than his Atlanta show. This is her second appearance since marrying her longtime beau last week Friday. I'm surprised she's not ducking and hiding like she has been in the last few candids. Marriage life must be pretty good for Ms Carter because she waved at the fans and the paps as she made her way. Mama Tina and Jay-Z were also seen leaving the Midtown Manhattan building but left at separate times. Apparently, they all made their way to Atlanta where Jay-Z was playing a concert with Mary J. Blige at Atlanta's Phillips Arena. And whilst the two of them are keeping tight-lipped about their wedding, Beyonce is speaking about it - only through her Bling Bling that is. The 26-year-old was spotted at the Atlanta show yesterday night with her pal Usher flashing a "whopping hunk of diamond" on her wedding ring finger.
So, I see Rihanna and her beau Chris Brown were up to their usual shenanigans again. The pair did nothing to cement their denial that they're an item. In fact, they ignited it even further when they were both spotted out and about in New York City last night, making a few stops together before heading back to the Chelsea hotel:

She was spotted out and about with best friend Melissa Forde before attending Melissa's surprise birthday party which took place at Star Lounge. But before the party took place she was spotted leaving a tattoo shop after touching up the tatt on her neck. Her beau Chris was also seen leaving the parlor and birthday party. This chick ought to be careful that her obsession with tattoo's doesn't get out of control. I personally think that milkyway tattoo with the stars on her back is just plain stupid and childish. But then, Chris who STILL has the kid in him can be blamed for that I suppose.

As well as her own birthday party recently, she attended Pharrell's 35th birthday party last week and she'll be attending her man's birthday party next month on May 5th when Chris turns 19 (she also attended his 18th last year).
Justin Timberlake was spotted watching the game between the Memphis Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks during the 2008 NCAA Men’s National Championship game at the Alamodome on April 7, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas:
Justin was there to support his hometown team the Memphis Tigers but left disappointed. Kansas won the game in overtime, 75-68, after Memphis squandered a 9 point lead with two minutes to go in regulation.

They must have had pure sex for daaays that night. Camel groans and bits of lacefront hair scattered all over the room in the midst of their wild marital passion. I keed I keed. I'm kind of baffled as to why they haven't released an official statement to confirm their marriage. I mean, they've been fronting about their relationship for years (despite constantly showing affection towards each other in public and going on millions of romantic vacations). Are they going to act like they didn't marry at all? That would be dumb as hell. If their pals Mary J Blige and John Legend can admit JAYONCE got married, why can't Beyonce and Jay-Z?

The performance took place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, April 6, 2008. The show will be aired on Wednesday, April 9th at 7:30pm on Fox Network. Mariah looks great. She has lost soooo much weight. She really doesn't need to lose any more.

MADONNA FEAT JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE: 4 MINUTES [VIDEO PREMIERE]....

I thought that the video was hot. I can't stand Justin Timberlake but without him, the song would not be that great, aside from the beat. I'm mad a hot beat got wasted on someone like Madonna who is not even an Urban artist and just appears to be riding the trend right now. Their lil choreography together was pretty cool and there was lots of static energy and electricity. Justin sure likes ripping off bits of clothing from his older female counterparts. Nothing has changed there I see. Their chemistry was static as well and Madonna looked good thanks to video airbrushing and clever lighting to iron out the 101 creases from her pensioning-buttock face. But at 50, that woman can move her ass off, you can't deny it. Madonna was on that fire. I really enjoyed the video.
