Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday bash concert will take place this week. There was a celebratory dinner for the former South African president and the stars were out for the fundraising dinner which took place at London's Hyde Park on Wednesday afternoon. Leona Lewis was there:
Leona looked amazing. That is a cute dress! She was also rocking a darker hair colour. It makes sense that she attended the dinner because she's scheduled to perform at the bash which will be televised this weekend.

Interscope Geffen A&M hosted their second annual Creme of The Crop post BET Awards dinner celebration Tuesday night at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. Singers Mel B, Melody Thornton, Tyrese, Toni Braxton and Ciara all attended the special dinner:

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....
Singers Esmee Denters (left) and Chris Brown (right) posed it up with designer Kira Plastinina at her clothing line launch party in Los Angeles last night:
Esme Denters is a Dutch 19-year-old singer who is signed to Justin Timberlake's label Tennman Records. She is a YouTube phenomena who received worldwide recognition after singing many hit songs on the popular video site, from today's biggest chart toppers; Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Natasha Bedingfield and of course JT himself. Esme's debut album is expected to be released later on in the year. On the forthcoming project, she has worked with Timbaland, Royal Court and The Clutch as well as Jim Beanz. Look out for 2 tracks 'Closer' and 'Lonely Sunday' off her album both produced and co-written by Beanz. Other R&B singers who attended the event included Jojo, Raven-Symoné and Amerie. On the forthcoming project, she's writing all of her own songs: "You know I'm not 13 anymore. I'm not comfortable doing that type of material so I'm really just taking the bull by the horns and taking charge." Can't wait to hear the outcome. She's working with some of the hottest producers in R&B as well.

Although I'd have preferred a lil more colour to her outfit she looked cute. It looks like she's losing weight as well. As nice as her new album was, Raven Symone is on the verge of getting dropped after only selling about 7,500 copies since its release on April 29th. The album got zero promotion. Shame.

She can wear a bin bag and would still put on one hell of a show. Alicia has been nominated for a Much Music Video Award in the category of Best International Video for 'No One'. Congratulations Alicia. The awards take place on June 15th.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....
R&B singers Ashanti and Jojo attended the Hearst Magazines and Universal Motown "Ultimate Prom" at the Grand Hyatt, May 30, 2008, New York City:
These two stay flocking up the same events. Anyway, they both performed at the event. R&B singer Lloyd also attended. You can view more images by clicking here. I think they both looked amazing especially Ashanti. I am totally feeling their golden glittery dresses, especially Jojo's. Ashanti had a couple of hit and misses as of late but no one can deny her transformation at yesterday's event was just fab. I think curly weave suits her the best. The only thing I would suggest is for her to tone down the hot pink lipstick. Other than that, stunning. My album review for The Declaration should be up later.

I thought the whole point of implants was to get them to look as realistic as possible so that you can't even tell they're implants. That weird dent in her chest is very telling. I can't decide who has the worst. Vivicia Fox, Paula Abdul or Mel B. Melanie recently gave her husband Stephen a birthday party to remember in celebration of him turning 33. Mel, who says she's a tiger in bed handcuffed her hubby while six topless strippers rubbed themselves provocatively against him as she took pictures. I've always said their sex life was out of this world.

Ashanti attended the Step Up Women's Network's 10th Anniversary Inspiration Awards Gala at the IAC Building on May 29, 2008 in New York City:
Ashanti looked absolutely gorgeous in a long leopard-skin print dress. Her whole album 'The Declaration' leaked yesterday. The album drops next week Tuesday on June 3rd. I'm totally loving that track she has with Robin Thicke. Cracking stuff.

JOJO'S UPCOMING THIRD ALBUM 'ALL I WANT IS EVERYTHING'....
JoJo did a recent interview with theLIFE.Files, and during that interview she confirmed working with Timbaland (Tank, DJ Toomp, and Polow Da Don) for 3rd album 'All I Want is Everything' coming in late 2008. Take a listen:

The High Road was a brilliant album, although sales were lukewarm in comparison to her debut, which was also a solid cut. The talented 17-year-old has vocals for days. On a side note, Teyana Taylor's forthcoming debut album From A Planet Called Harlem was also mentioned in the interview and at least 3 confirmed Clutch tracks have been noted so far - Color Me Pink, Complicated and Young Girl.

Leona Lewis was spotted departing JFK airport yesterday. She's been working her butt off all week and it's looks like it's about to pay off. According to first-day predictions, Leona's latest album Spirit, which was released in the US on Tuesday is set to debut at #1 on next week's HITS Album Sales chart, edging near 200k.
So not only has Bleeding Love got to no 1 on Billboard but she'll have a double victory with Spirit as well. I am really pleased for her. Those are fantastic sales for a newcomer artist. I'm sure Simon Cowell and Clive Davis will be sipping champagne once everything has been made official. Good for her. She deserves all of her success on both sides of the Atlantic. I guess she'll be getting a top of the range merc now, at Mr Cowell's expense.

Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted YET AGAIN in New York yesterday, and did everything possible not to be seen together as usual. The pair were spotted near their Manhattan hotel. Here they are on separate occasions:
Rihanna looked absolutely wonderful. That is one bad heffa, waxy ears and all. Bitch is untouchable, OK?!?!? Anyway, they can front all they like. Jordin Sparks has just went and told their business even though they don't want to confirm their relationship. Last night, Rihanna performed a concert held at the Highline Ballroom. The concert helped fund the BELIEVE Foundation, which Rihanna created in 2006 to "ensure the health and well-being of our future leaders." BELIEVE is also "committed to creating change in the lives of our youth by providing, educational, financial, social and medical support when and wherever it is needed." Reportedly, he has agreed to meet his ex-flame Britney Spears at a family barbecue, on the insistence of her father Jamie Spears. He was called in aid of Britney’s recovery from mental illness issues. And he agreed to talk to the Toxic singer face to face. The couple dated for nearly four years and split in 2002. From then, things got nasty - Justin publicly telling a radio station that Britney sucked him off, the Cry Me A River video, the constant bitching about her cheating and so forth. Maybe, he's not such a prick after all. I just hope this isn't Chris and Rihanna in a few years time. They are the EXACT same age Justin and Brit were when they first started dating.
