Beyonce was spotted at J&R's MusicFest concert series in City Hall Park, New York yesterday afternoon. The superstar singer was there to watch the performances of younger sister Solange and pal Michelle Williams:
Beyonce has been keeping a low profile as of late as to not disrupt the shine of Solange and Michelle Williams. Word on the E-streets is that we could end up hearing a new single in 2-3 weeks. Be prepared for serious mayhem. I don't even think I want to be around when millions of fans become zombified.
As Beyonce watched from the stands, so did mama Tina as Solange and Michelle did their thang. It was certainly a lil family affair:
Mama Tina looked like she just sucked on some lemon's. So is this sour-faced look REALLY Beyonce's future as ya'll keep saying? I hope not.
Solange also attended the Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer Street Block Party in New York City's SoHo yesterday:
She chilled out with rapper pal Q-Tip who collaborated on a remix to Solange's latest new single 'Sandcastle Disco'.
Meanwhile, those young lovers Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted shopping on Melrose yesterday and made sure not to be seen together although they were close by. Rihanna's mama and two brothers were also in tow:
If Rihanna is as broke as reports say she is, then she certainly isn't showing it. We all know this chick LIVES for shopping. Probably because she knows there's another endorsement around the corner that awaits her. And even if that were to dry up, there's always C. Breezy's money. But do remember she's still the IT girl after all.

I got caught up to do this post yesterday so here's your latest edition of 'R&B Singers Out & About....' and what your favourite R&B acts have been up to this past week or so. It seems Ryan Leslie may have found himself a brand new model chick. The handsome singer/producer was spotted having dinner last night at DaSilvano in Manhattan with 18-year-old star model Chanel Iman:
Ryan, who was rumoured to be dating Cassie at one time seemed to be really smitten with his new boo as he wined and dined her throughout the night. It appears he has a thang for those chicks with Exotic looks especially models (Cassie). Chanel does look like a cross between Amerie and his alleged ex - the one who's rumoured to be dating her Bad Boy CEO under the quiet, but it appears Ryan is over it since he's supposedly been there done that. Can't be mad at him though. If you can have your pick of the ladies, go for the Exotic beautiful ones! See more after the cut.

Supposedly, Beyonce flew in to tape episodes for the new season of Desperate Housewives, which started taping this week. I've been hearing about Beyonce and Desperate Housewives for the past couple of months. At one time her people denied it but maybe there's been a change of heart of some sort. In time, we'll have to wait and see. I do know that Beyonce has been recording a large proportion of her new album in Los Angeles. I find it hard to believe she'd even have the time to film her part of Desperate Housewives when she got done shooting two movies and is in the process of recording a brand new album as well as an anticipated performance at Fashion Rocks in three weeks time. But as you know, this woman's work ethic is like no one's I've ever seen before. Chick aint satisfied until she's dominating EVERY field outside of music. What were we all thinking when we believed she was expecting her husband's child a while back? Beyonce aint trying to let a baby ruin her empire just yet when she's got soooo much more to achieve or has she? Not until she wins that Oscar..... In that case, poor Jay-Z could be in for a very long wait!
Rihanna and her beau Chris Brown was spotted canoodling on those beautiful golden beaches of her Native Barbados on Tuesday:
Those two really have become inseparable. Wouldn't be at all surprised if they bought a house together if they haven't done so already. Chris already loves showering his boo with expensive jewellery including a massive rock which she was spotted wearing last week on her wedding finger. Of course this sparked off engagement rumours.....
They were seen trying out all of the watersports including riding waverunners, water tubes, water rafts and speedboats:

It wasn't those two at the scene either. Rihanna's two younger brothers were also on the beach to join in on the fun:
They were all seen on the banana boat and on the beach making sand balls to throw at each other I presume. Rihanna's brother (green shorts) is really stocky. Damn. He and Chris are the exact same age. Stay tuned for more....

R&B CELEB SPOTTINGS: ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL DAY TWO & THREE + JENNIFER LOPEZ IN ITALY.....
Putting an end to the Essence Music Festival trilogy, here's the last reporting of what went down on day two and three. Solange posed it up with money hungry pimp of a daddy, Matthew Knowles:
Oh, and big sis Beyonce slipped in behind the scenes to give Sol some support. She was even seen playing with her little nephew Daniel. Cute.

Keyshia showed off her affectionate side. Something we're not use to seeing. I'm also reading that Young Jeezy is foaming at the mouth claiming Keyshia bought him an engagement ring and asked him to marry her but he knocked her back because he wasn't ready to go there. Messy. Why he gotta put her business out there like that?

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....
Janet Jackson attended the Alexander McQueen Boutique opening in Los Angeles, last night. The singer showed up wearing a Japanese Kimono inspired gown, which coincidently contained the colours of her Def Jam label mate Mariah's latest album E=MC²:
The audacious dress that Janet wore is an actual Alexander McQueen creation. However, I don't think the look quite works on Janet. The sleeves are waaaay too flowy and long and it just didn't look right. Janet has also been locked in rehearsals for her forthcoming Discipline tour which will kick off this coming September.
Last night, Beyonce was spotted leaving Madison Square Garden after watching Kanye West's show. The singer tried to get with the summer blues with her neon yellow nails and Girl Scout-inspired green outfit:
She looked a hot mess, but then, this is Beyonce we're talking about. Still, the singer was all smiles. I guess the high-waisted skirt will further fuel the rumours that she's expecting her first baby. Kelly Rowland has meanwhile denied that Beyonce is preggers but her father won't deny or confirm. Hmmmmm....
Chris Brown had a 19th birthday celebration at Rebel in New York City last night. The party was attended by girlfriend Rihanna and pals Teyana Taylor and Lil Mama amongst others. Dawn from Danity Kane was there with her man Que from Day26 as well as Day26 singer Willie:
Chris has really let himself go. And he really needs to sort out his lil skin problem. I know he must be thrilled to bits that he's sleeping with Rihanna so as a result, I assumed that it would have given him more reason to keep himself neat and well groomed. His appearance in the past was never so ragged. He was always fresh from a sharp haircut and he always looked clean and well put together. He use to care. Now it's like, he doesn't care at all. I adore Chris but he was looking like a right tramp at his own party. If this is the effect Rihanna has on him, maybe they're not so good for each other after all.
Yesterday, Rihanna and Chris were seen heading back to their Manhattan hotel after she spent the evening rehearsing for an upcoming show:

Mariah Carey REALLY has new hubby Nick Cannon all sprung like a dog on a lead. It's no secret that Mariah has a bathroom in her NY home in dedication to the furry kitty collection HELLO KITTY. Apparently, Nick was spotted in a Hello Kitty store buying the goods for his beloved wife Mariah in Beverley Hills yesterday:
I laughed really loud at seeing these pics. Very romantic I guess. Most men wouldn't even be seen dead in a HELLO KITTY store but .... in the name of love I guess. I've noticed this dude is CONSTANTLY in a suit now. He obviously wants to appear all smart and conservative since being married to Mariah. This is the kind of effect that should take place with ANY man in love with his lady. You change, grow up and do what it takes to meet certain standards.
