BOBBY VALENTINO INKS DEAL WITH EMI & OWN LABEL BLUE KOLLA ENTERTAINMENT.....

Bobby Valentino will be back in full force as he's just told SOHH that he has inked a new deal with EMI and his own label Blue Kolla Entertainment, after he was reportedly dropped from Def Jam, and leaving Ludacris's Disturbing Tha Peace label.

Bobby will now record and release an independent album prior to the new deal. Good to see R&B acts making a stand with their music careers. Bobby is now following in the footsteps of Syleena Johnson (Jive), Ray-J (Elektra) and Tamia (Elektra/Atlantic) who all went independent after departing from their major record labels.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

Last night in Atlanta, Ciara co-hosted the Ludacris Foundation, an event that was done in honour to raise money for youth and HIV/AIDS research. The event was also attended by singer Fergie and producers Polow Da Don, Bryan Michael Cox (not pictured) and Dallas Austin:




Nice one, to both Ciara and Luda. When you become famous, it's good to see celebs using their star power to make a difference instead of spewing crap and starting beefs. Fiddy should take an example from his rival and alleged former lover.

These group certainly are a tightknit bunch as they were all spotted at the 11th Annual BMI Atlanta Unsigned Urban Showcase in Atlanta, GA on that very same day:

Teyana Taylor also performed her set. Also, that is Bobby's first public appearance since he was dropped from Disturbing The Peace via Def Jam. Anyway, Keri looked cute and Lloyd is straight funny looking.

Janet Jackson and her fella Jermaine Dupri were spotted departing the Foxtail club last night:



Jermaine has spoken about the secret wedding of Beyonce and Jay-Z claiming that the day after the wedding, he and Jay-Z went straight back into the studio to do some work on Usher's forthcoming album Here I Stand. Who goes back to work the next day after getting hitched? I see why Bey and Jay are attracted to each other - those are some hardworking motherfuckers. Then again, this is the reason why they're so damn powerful and successful. Can't hate on that at all. And I take it, we won't EVER get to see those wedding pics because they REFUSE to talk about it. Not even with their closest pals. Shame.

Chris Brown was spotted waiting patiently for his cab to pick him up in Beverly Hills yesterday:



Even when dressed down, he was looking really scrummy. My guess is that he was on his way to Rihanna's LA mansion where they started making sweet music together. I see another duet in the foreseeable future.

BOBBY VALENTINO LEAVES DEF JAM....

Bobby Valentino has left the Def-Jam distributed label Disturbing The Peace (DTP). He says he left to his own accord (though I am finding that very hard to believe. It was previously reported that both he and Shareefa faced the chop): "The decision to leave [the label] was totally mine. I sat down with Ludacris and Chaka Zulu, and I explained to them that it was time for me to venture out on my own. They had no problem with it; they are cool with it, no beef at all". Why he'd do that when he was about to release his new record 'Come With Me' in 3 weeks has left me quite baffled.

If he didn't get dropped (which I doubt), does he actually realise how hard it is to get a record deal these days? Unless you're Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey or any of those other Veteran acts, he could end up on a bootlegged label (like *cough* Myspace) with a dingy budget and a piece of string for promotional gain. If he wasn't happy with the way he was being handled, I guess you can't knock him for wanting to depart ways (he did bitch last year that Ne-yo got all the preferential treatment). Good luck to him either way.

CELEB SPOTTINGS: R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT....

Last night ladies, Chris Brown got all on his grown and sexy when he performed in Paris, France (March 17th), looking tastier than ever:

I am looking at these pics and I am ripping those pants right off with my eyes. Mmmmm hmmmm, the imagination is a wonderful thing. Chris began his European tour last week. He served his female admirers up a treat when he took off his shirt to reveal his sexy torso and heavily tattooed shoulders.

On the same night (March 17th), his girl Rihanna performed on stage during a concert in Arena Riga, Latvia (far right):



On the same night (March 17th), Alicia Keys performed live at the Sports Palace in Madrid, Spain. Europe really was getting all the hottest gigs in town that day with Chris, Rihanna and Alicia playing to anticipated European crowds.

Over the weekend, former TLC singer T Boz and her man Takeo Spikes was spotted outside the Investment Club Party hosted by Deon Grant at Luckies (far right):

What has happened to T Boz? Damn. Anyway, Bobby Valentino and rapper Chingy also hit up the spot as well.

On March 14th, Letoya Luckett was spotted at the Shadows Bar (Trend Friday's) looking something kind of strange:

I really want to cry for this girl. I can't believe someone so pretty would mess with their face in this way. Anyway, Letoya celebrated her 27th birthday in Atlanta. I posted those pictures yesterday. She turned 27 on March 11th.

More Chris Brown. On March 15th, the sexy R&B singer was also spotted arriving at his hotel in Stockholm, Sweden where he was mobbed by waiting fans:

The singer will also perform at the Essence Music Festival alongside Kanye West, Chris Rock, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott and many others on July 4th-6th.
